Yes I've browsed through a lot of Judy and David's Boombox and it has nothing to do in relation to My Special Book
Maybe not directly, but the production studio that made Boombox might also have made My Special Book. We don't know anything about who made My Special Book. I'm checking all the leads.
I emailed YTV to ask if they might have information about in-house productions. They don't have any information about shows that have been off the air for over a year, but shows they made themselves might be a special case.
But we already know YTV Productions made it, according to the article in the post by scary8guypl.
On the preschool front, ytv productions include: Fuzzpaws, a puppet sitcom; Little Big Kid, live-action, life-lesson shorts; My Special Book, story shorts; Nanalan’, a toddler’s-eye view of life in puppet/live-action shorts; and Pet Squad, tot cult hero PJ Katie’s (of Farm fame) newest animal shorts vehicle, in which she sleuths out answers to kids’ animal queries.
It was phased out when Treehouse implemented some major programming changes on September 4th,2006. So yeah,no wonder this show is so hard to come by,it stopped airing a loooong time ago....

How did you get the forums to show up? I just got a "page not archived" when I tried it on the Wayback Machine.
We now know it stopped airing in 2006. Based on the fact the copyright information is not available online, the show must have been registered and likely started airing in 2003-2004. Does that make sense to you guys?

No,actually,we already know that it made it's debut during September of 1998,not on Treehouse but on YTV,from an article that's already been linked here. We don't know when Treehouse picked it up.

Ah, foot-in-mouth disease strikes again. Sorry.
So at this point, we know:
Name: My Special Book
Starting Airdate: 1998
Ending Airdate: 2006
Companies involved in production: YTV
Aired on: YTV Jr, Treehouse
People known to be involved in the production: [none yet]
Where do we go from here?

Well,I actually have somewhat of an inventive plan for how we can search for this show. Now that we know the time range of when it aired,I say we should look for big events on Treehouse that took place during that time frame that people would have wanted to record, like for example the airing of a movie. There's a pretty high chance that they would have also recorded these filler segments, like My Special Book. The thing is,though, that when uploading these recordings to the net most people tend to edit out these filler segments. We'd have to get really lucky and find a recording where the person was too lazy to edit them out haha. Even if we find one where they have been edited out,we can try contacting the uploader to see if they might still have an unedited copy laying around anywhere, there's always a slim chance that they might. One event that I know took place within that time period is that they aired some Barbie movies,A LOT of people recorded those. Only problem with that is,those Barbie movies also ended up getting a DVD release, which makes finding a Treehouse recording of them a bit harder :/ . It would be better to look for stuff that only aired on TV,and never got a DVD release. Another interesting thing about those Barbie movies is that, from what I've gathered from reading the old Treehouse forums, there was a glitch when one of them aired and the movie cut out randomly about 3/4 of the way in. A lot of parents were really angry about this. Now,I know that a lot of you on here are really into TV glitches/interruptions,so yeah, there you go,that's another TV interruption to look for,if anyone cares about it haha.

That sounds like a good plan.
I remember them airing Barbie and The Three Musketeers years after the movie came out, so there might also be an issue of the movies airing after everyone who wants a copy already has a copy.
This guy's name is Richard Rodwell, and according to his profile, he was the composer for the music of "My Special Book" somewhere between 1994 and 2000.
If we get in contact with this guy somehow, we can ask him if he knows any details about the show himself aside from the music scores.
Boom, also hit another LinkedIn Profile for a Michael Decsi, and CHECK THIS OUT!He was a show runner and creator for YTV, and helped make shows such as "My Special Book", and other semi-lost show "The Bittles".

According to his profile, there were NINETY different episodes of "My Special Book" and the main character's name is truly Book Girl. We have our man.

Ninety? Oh, wow.
Contacting people on LinkedIn is next to impossible unless you pay LinkedIn, so we will have to find some other contact form.
I also found Michael's IMDb page, but however liken LinkedIn, one has to pay in order to get the Contact info provided there. I'll look up more about him when I get home.
Wow, coming back to this thread. I'm impressed by the new info found about this show. When I heavily researched this show, I didn't find any of this. Now that we have 2 guys who worked on the show. That opens up a bunch of new information. I had no clue My Special Book had 90 episodes.
I remember around 2 years ago, when I just started remembering this show. I posted a comment on YouTube asking if anyone else remembered it. Some guy commented and claimed that he had hundreds of hours of Treehouse footage on VHS, and was "absolutely positive" My Special Book was on it. He told me that he will upload it when he can put VHS tapes onto YouTube. It got me very excited. But then he randomly deleted his YouTube channel and I never heard from him again. Disappointment.
