I tried to get a look at the metadata for that image. Twitter wiped it all.
Then, I tried to see if I could get a schedule from when the show was airing. I could get an old schedule, captured around 2003, though I can't verify the exact time because the page isn't directly archived. It goes to www.treehousetv.com:80/parents/schedule/index.asp and is redirected to eastern.asp
My Special Book isn't in the schedule.
But here's something I noticed. This is Treetown.
The styles look a bit similar. Maybe Treetown and My Special Book were made by the same company. I remember them having similar tones.
I know there was, at one point, a video online because I remember trying to figure out where the line "Storytime, storytime, I'm so glad it's story time" came from. It now appears to not exist. What fun. (Although we are talking Viacom...)
Hehe i didnt know till i researched this show that "bookgirl" was such a holy grail to some, theres multiple threads about it from yearsssss ago, i can see why though:p i can sense your excitement in this post lol and thats how i felt when i saw the image, you can thank scary8 for this:)

It seems like that is how all of the best searches start. Nobody wants to look for something boring.

well i really hope we can turn up something:0 seems like a lot of pilots are being found lately i want this found lol
Holy crap! No way you found this show! I loved it when I was young! Is it really lost?! No! There has to be someone in possesion of a copy o the show somewhere!
Sadly yes it is lost it has like almost no presence online atall:/ that is the only image of it online..we can hope someone has a copy... who ever does has the holy grail of treehouse tv in their hands lol
It's so disappointing that there isn't any more documentation regularly accessible about the show. Oh, and that 2015 from my post at the top of the page should be 2005. My bad. That would make the correct publication date for the blog post November 25, 2005.
I found a cache of Treehouse's programming guide for November 4, 2005. My Special Book is still not listed anywhere in the programming guide. It's not listed in any of the caches from around that time either. There do appear to be some problems with some of the caches, where days of content are just listed as "continued programming", but you'd think that there would be some record of the show existing. The website appears to have a dynamic element, as the day of the week that the guide starts with is inconsistent. The guide lists full length and shorter programs.
What does this mean? My Special Book might be part of a larger show.
Here is a list of all the shows that were airing on the week of November 4, 2005. Numbers in brackets indicate that this was not always a full-length program, and give the run-time of the show. Delete the list if you are replying. It's super long and causes lots of scrolling. I might have missed something, as I made this list by hand, so please let me know if you spot an error.

Now, most of these are not the show that we are looking for. I just thought it would be useful to have a list that's easy to reference. I'll look up the shows I don't remember to see what I can figure out about them. One of them may be the show we are looking for.
That does mean I'll be double posting. This post is long. Sorry.
Funky Valley, a show with paper cutout animation. Not it. Grandpa's Garden, also animated Igloo-Gloo, puppet animation, no live actors Wumpa's World, puppet animation, no live actors Dragon, claymation Rubadubbers, CG animation Henry's Amazing Animals, live action and CG Play With Me, Sesame, live action and puppetry, but no Sesame Street characters appear in My Secret Book Mighty Machines, live action only
Crap. I don't know what else this could be. We certainly didn't just collectively imagine such a specific show. The style of the set looks a lot like Treetown or Wee 3 in my opinion, so it could be part of one of those shows, but both of them appear to be full 30-minute shows with only a few set changes. Ants in Your Pants is another possible candidate, but it featured music videos, not skits.
Does anyone else have ideas?

I don't think it was part of any other show. I remember watching this pretty vividly, and it wasn't part of anything else,it was a standalone show. I think it even had a title card. It was very short tho, only about 5mins. Book Girl would tell a story, interact with some living inanimate objects like a doorbell,a box and a drawer ect,and that's it. Am I the only one who thinks that this show isn't that interesting? It was just like, another one of those generic kids shows which played on the "ZOMG,RANDOM!" trope in a desperate attempt to entertain the kiddies, using bright colours,a strange setting, talking objects ect. There's tons of kids shows like this haha. I'm more interested in Max the Cat,now that looks interesting, shorts about a cat who travels the world, with a nice classic art style .
I found another place where the show was mentioned:http://treehousefaceoff.blogspot.ca/2006_04_16_archive.html
It's a fun little blog in which somebody compares Treehouse shows. The show is mentioned in their list of planned comparisons,it's the last "battle" they were supposed to do: "Postman Pat vs My Special Book". Unfortunately,it seems that they never got around to writing it,because they only got up to "Judy and David's Boombox vs Kleo the Misfit Unicorn" before they called it quits. The posts are pretty fun to read tho haha

People don't look for stuff like this because they like it. They look for it because it's weird, because it's surreal.

Does anyone remember "Wanna Play?" (a Treehouse filler about kids playing in the park with their dog announcing). I wanna do a thread of my own for that, but I don't know how.
It wasn't, as far as I remember. It was standalone. TreehouseTV didn't have any commercials, so they would fill that time with shorts. These five minute shorts didn't show up on a guide or schedule, they were pretty much just plucked at random from a large library. Sometimes they would be edits of a longer show e.g. Judy and David's Boombox, Dragon, Four Square (which was garbage and I knew it even as a kid by the way) so it would make sense that those would also be on a schedule but a lot of the time they were created to be five minute shorts from their inception e.g. Deko Boko Friends or Mamemo. My Special Book falls into the latter category. So I think it makes sense it wouldn't be in a list of shows at the time.
With that said, I would not be at all surprised if the set design was done by the same crew as Treetown. They look near identical in terms of style.

Did Julie and David's Boombox air at the same time (years) as My Special Book? You may have hit upon something here; that show wasn't on the schedule either, but I remember it clearly. There are clips online, so the credits of the show might help us figure out who was making these shows.
