The famous obscure synth music YouTube channel "Are Sounds Electrik?" has been terminated for "copyright infringement" by conglomorates that probably get all their money from these music tracks from the publicity the channel has created for them, the fringest of the fringe. These weren't just uploads of obscure music that'll make you go "how in the world did he find them", they were expertly montaged with video from obscure movies or tv series that fit so well it makes them together unique works of art (and thus original videos that don't exist elsewhere many times) giving proper light to forgotten media with vibes that can't be found anywhere else. Sadly, only one of his videos has been saved on the Internet Archive, but this is something that I want to change with this thread project. I know that YouTube videos have a bad rep here, but if there's one channel that deserves to be preserved, it's this one, it changed my life and music tastes forever along with the ones of many other people, he even got interviews from media outlets! In fact, I already have saved many of his videos in case something like this happen (and did happen in 2023, when he needed to reupload videos that were terminated), but of course, this isn't all of them. So, this isn't one of those "please do all the work for me" searches, I'm truly serious about this and any help would be truly appreciated! Finding the URLs of the original videos before the 2023 strike would probably help a lot since it was before YouTube seemed to do everything it can to prevent the proper archival of vulnerable videos.
Many thanks to anyone reading this! Even a word of support would be appreciated.
archive.org/details/peppers-ghost-dysphoria (A great exemple of what I mean by using little known movies to make a clip that fits so well with the original song, giving an even more surreal atmosphere to the track)
UPDATE : Thanks to the collective efforts of me and a user named "briarrose89" (if you came to help from this post, I just want to send my thanks here to you) we now have, up from only one before this thread, now 30 preserved videos from the channel! Good job! But we're not done yet! Still have some more in my sleeves.
Also, the man behind the channel is aware of the strike that destroyed his channel and is giving signs on Tipee that he has a personal complete archive of all his videos, which is reassuring, even if it is always better to have a backup just in case. Also, just read that new age sci-fi style message, how can you not like the guy and want to archive his stuff when even a simple update message has this much personality put into it? en.tipeee.com/are-sounds-electrik/news/186675

Wait it's gone? I'm not subscribed but I'd see him in my recommended every now and again so I had no idea!
Yeah, ever since around the 25th of January of this year, the channel has been striked down. Might come back, either restored as if (like with Artzie music) which seems unlikely, as a new channel (with possibly missing/altered videos responsible for the previous strikes) or not at all. In all cases, an Archive.org backup would be more than warranted given the lasting impact of his channel on us synth-loving people.
Speaking of, update time, last one (along with the Uzbek one) I had saved on my computer is now archived (and easily the cheesiest most meme-worthy of them all, even the channel stated it was a guilty pleasure : 80s latvian robot, complete with big orange pants, chicken dances, mullets and a guy in the background with a voice and stare that'll make anyone chuckle) : archive.org/details/80s-latvian-robot
Now we'll have to dig harder to find the rest, still multiple ones, including major ones, missing with zero backup.
Update time : We are now up to 52 found media archived videos of his! Still some major ones missing like the Italo robot, the Supernature dancer with the majestic dancing conehead, the 80s Dark Synthwave with the very artsy very cinematographic footage from that french movie with the cemetery clown, the guity pleasure and yugoslav mixes, the belgian synth one with Plastic Bertrand chad energy, the "Leave us alone" one with the creepy horror tv british movie about supernatural kids with uncanny eyes and the documentary about the New Romantics. But I'm confident with your popular support and positive energy sending, we will archive it all!
I can contribute a few videos I have downloaded over the years. How do I upload? I'm new in this forum...
If I were you, I'd make myself a 100% free Internet Archive account and upload them there, plus with that account you get to borrow any book you want on the site! I'd also check if possible if the videos have not already been archived (can do that here : archive.org/search?query=creator%3A%22Are+Sounds+Electrik%3F%22 ) and to use a similar creator name ("Are Sounds Electrik?") and subject name to existing archived videos so that it can be easier for people looking for them to find them.
If anyone has: Bazikiny sisters - Yours and mine, I would greatly appreciate it if you could upload on archive.org. That song/video had me entranced for months, it was beautiful. I meant to download it, something that I never do, but it was too late. This video introduced me to the channel, I think it was one of his more recent ones.
Hi, I am look for some videos that Are Sounds Electrik posted on Youtube a few years ago. I will to pay for copies. One is "Stellar" is a good song and video of Australian beach and music. Then there is "I am a Machine"
