What channel did you see the commercial? cable or terrestrial? However, there were numerous times that Nintendo allowed the characters from the franchise to be in first party and third party games exclusive to their own consoles, including:
- Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy + for the Nintendo 3DS had custom planes related to Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Donkey Kong and Peach as well as having sound effects from the franchise.
- Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2's Wii U versions (the second game was released exclusively to that console) had the main character wear a costume similar to Peach and Daisy.
- Just Dance 3 (and its Japanese version) for the Wii had a song called "Just Mario" credited by "Ubisoft meets Nintendo" as it features Mario dancing to the song.
- Minecraft has both a Wii U and Switch editions that includes a "Super Mario Mash-Up Pack" that allows you to make anything Mario-related.
- Scribblenaughts Unlimited for the Wii U had featured Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi (with several colors), Toad, Bowser, Goombas, Koopa Troopas, Bob-ombs, Boos, and Shy Guys if you type their names into the scratchpad.
